AXP Roadmap – Architecture Student Timeline
Project type
Editorial / Informational Design Project
Date
September 2025
Location
Boston
Client: Northeastern University – Department of Architecture
This project involved designing two informational posters outlining the first stages of the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) for architecture students. The goal was to break down professional development expectations for freshman and sophomore students into clear, actionable milestones.
Rather than presenting licensure requirements as distant or overwhelming, the posters frame early academic years as strategic foundation-building phases.
The Freshman poster emphasizes:
Awareness of AXP and NCARB requirements
Networking and mentorship
Portfolio development
Engagement in student organizations and events
The Sophomore poster focuses on:
First co-op or internship experience
Initial AXP hour accumulation
Professional skill development
Measurable milestone targets
The primary design challenge was organizing structured, checklist-style information into a visually engaging and digestible format. I used clear typographic hierarchy, milestone callouts, and sectional grouping to create an intuitive progression from awareness to professional engagement.
This project demonstrates my ability to translate professional accreditation frameworks into accessible visual communication tools tailored to specific student stages.
